With Luis Fabiano injured, who takes his place in the Brazil team?
-Rod, Winnipeg Brazil manager Dunga has no shortage of attacking options in his squad. Having said that, Luis Fabiano is a valuable weapon he’d rather not be without when his side plays the Republic of Ireland on Tuesday. The Sevilla striker is unique among his teammates in that he is a purely one-dimensional forward who creeps around the goalmouth and converts opportunities into goals. In a side with an abundance of playmakers, it’s an invaluable role. But to ask who will fill the position and who will come into the squad as his replacement are two completely different questions. The closest thing to a like-for-like replacement for Luis Fabiano is Adriano. The 28-year-old has undergone something of a renaissance at Flamengo, where he scored 19 league goals in 2009 and was named top striker and best player in the Campeonato. He also has a prolific scoring record for the national team, with 27 goals in 47 matches. Personally, however, I’d hand Tuesday’s starting assignment to Nilmar. Th
