With Duralite tile, how many nails are required to secure each tile that is placed over battens on the roof? Can some tiles be skipped.?
Duralite tiles are required to have one fastener per tile in all situations. Our company is looking at building investment rental properties. Because these investment properties will be very low maintenance, they will be suitable for placing into pension plans. We like the idea of a 50-year roof. What concerns us is the requirements for attaching the tiles to the roof. Our structures will be built from pre-engineered steel and foam panels. The solid roof panels can handle the weight requirements with ease. How would we attach the tiles to the panels without using some material that would rot out long before the tiles wear out? We have even wondered about the possibility of applying roofing tiles with adhesives that would eliminate the need for air flow under the tiles. Do you have any suggestions? There are a number of different methods of installation for concrete roof tile, including adhesive sets using polyurethane foams and other types of mechanical attachments.
