With Centrex IP, does the end user have two IP addresses, one for voice and one for data?
Today, Centrex IP subscribers require a new and unique IP address. Most will already have an IP address for their PC. Centrex IP end points require an IP address to send and receive packets of voice. The Nortel IP Phone 2004 requires a unique IP address when it is configured. Certainly, IP voice and IP data can co-exist on the same network with each IP phone and IP terminal (PC, printer, etc.) having its own unique IP address. [Note: As future voice client software applications (PC resident) are introduced in the marketplace, it is conceivable that one IP address could serve one subscriber with voice and data service.
