With Boston Seaport being developed, what are the prospects/plans for South Boston?

South Boston is one of the only neighborhoods in the city that not only holds value, but keeps increasing. Its beaches, and proximity to downtown(you can walk there) are it main features. I was born there and lived there until I was about 30. To us as residents, there was never anything down there except industrial land, and South Boston pretty much ended at the Summer Street Bridge. The USPS did not sell any land in the Seaport area. The did have an RFP out for their main facility at South Station, that the city of Boston wants developed into condo, office, retail. They also want to open up the access to the finacial district on Dorchester Ave. With the Advent of the new Convention Center, it is an exciting time to be part of one of Bostons, new neighborhoods.
