Authorize.Net is a payment gateway. This means it allows you to accept credit cards over the internet, acting as an online credit card machine. There are two ways you can use Authorize.Net: You can integrate Authorize.Net WebLink into a website, creating a page where customers can automatically pay for their products by filling out their own credit card information. For a manual credit card entry program, use Authorize.Net Virtual Terminal, which does not need to be integrated into a website. With Authorize.Net Virtual Terminal, you manually enter the customers’ credit card information, and then process it over the Internet. Mail/Phone Order businesses, home-based businesses, and online businesses that don’t need website integration may prefer to use the Virtual Terminal application.
