i had my wisdom teeth all 4 of them taken out 3 weeks ago seen to be 4 weeks on 1/8/08 and today out of no where my right side hurts and is swelling really bad its the bottom one i can tell and its throbbing, after the surgery i had some pain but no swelling so im scared and confused is this normal what can i do to make the swelling go down/away? please help Call the office where you had your wisdom teeth removed, even tonight. They may have a Dr. on call over the week end, or a number where someone can be reached to help figure out what is going on. A visit to the ER may be warranted, especially if you are swollen. They could at least put you on an antibiotic until you can see someone on Monday. In the mean time, as suggested above, take Advil or Motrin, and rinse with warm salt water. Warm, moist heat will help as well. The warm moist heat will help draw any infection to the surface.
