Windows has several file deletion options. Don’t these options erase my files and privacy information?
A. Many of Windows’ deletion options, programs, utilities, etc. do not actually physically delete the data or history file. They erase the records identifying or pointing to the file, but the physical file still remains on the computer until it is overwritten, partially or fully, by another physical file. Until overwritten, these “deleted” files can be recovered by data recovery programs.
