Given the unusual way Oracle chooses to spell his own name, he may be connected to Ystin’s sword, which the Sheeda know as the Sword of Aurakles. This sword is one of “seven timeless objects, given to man by the Gods for his protection against… evil.” It seems that Oracle was one of those Gods who chose to arm humanity for their fight with the Sheeda.
