Will Wii play DVD movies?
At one time, Nintendo said Wii would be able to play DVDs through a dongle device that must be purchased separately. However, at its Wii Preview 2006 event, the company said the system would no longer play DVD movies. Nintendo vice president of marketing and corporate affairs Perrin Kaplan said that most consumers today already own a DVD player and by not including one in Wii, it helps bring down the cost of the system.
