Licks, a Jamaica Plain-based café and ice cream chain, will open its tenth location at 63 Central St. in the space formerly occupied by the Body Shop. “The owner has always wanted to be in Wellesley and there was a location that he liked,” said Kim Diaz, Director of Operations for J.P. Licks. “It’s going to be interesting.” Although she wasn’t sure if there would be anything particularly Wellesley-specific about the new location, Diaz said the company would bring its signature self-roasted coffee beans and new frozen yogurt formula to the mix. “Unfortunately the space is a little bit small so its going to be challenging to do a lot of the creativeness in there,” she said.
