WILL WE EVER SEE DIVERSITY ON RAW (ie. Electronica, Hip Hop, Rock) ?
Dude, you’re out of touch. Raw Energy started off years ago with the ska sounds of King Apparatus, then released a whack of diversity, including “alternative” albums from King Cobb Steelie, Dinner Is Ruined and Leanne Haze, the latter is a witch, not to mention the crucial hip hop of Top Secret, as well as the bonecrushing metal of Mundane. I guess you haven’t checked out recent Space City USA either…. We’ve put out 35 albums over the years. Personally, I believe punk is an attitude, not a musical style. Besides, we’re always helping a myriad of other “artists”. For instance, we co-presented two plays last year, both political and very underground. As well, the Development Education Centre just released a book called “Think Act Change” – and I wrote the section on Media. I also sit on the board of the Music Alliance Projects, which helps those musical acts in other, less rock, areas, like the South Asian, African and South American scenes here in Toronto.
