Will washing fabric softener sheets remove their chemical, making it suitable for other uses?

I am not sure about that, but one great use for dryer sheets is cleaning the tops of the fridge, freezor, computers, tv’s,(tops only) not sure exactly what the termanology is but they produce static electicity which attracts dust the dryer sheets really work to repel it.
