Will Verbinski Realize THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY??
Merrick here… Gore Verbinski is taking on THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY, based on James Thurber’s 1939 story of the same name. Gore is the latest in a stream of high-profile directors to take a crack at this film (Spielberg and Howard were previously involved, for example). Given this project’s history, file Verbinski’s involvement under “I’ll believe it when I see it” for the time being. Twentieth Century Fox is aggressively moving ahead with the long-gestating update of “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty,” inking a deal with Gore Verbinski to direct the update of the 1947 classic film.
