Most of them will not work. The reason being Kubuntu uses KDE while Ubuntu uses GNome. Both these interfaces use different libraries to render the graphics on screen. Since QT (used by KDE) and GTK (used by Gnome) have different implementations, normally most products provide versions for each. You will need to check the specific application for the other version.
