It should. Hemp is controlled because of the competition with Cotton (depression era law). The war on Drugs scared a lot of people away from hemp.

The policy is a mess. It’s legal to buy stuff made out of hemp in the USA, but it must be imported. I sometimes eat hemp cereal, buy hemp protein, hemp bracelets or necklaces, etc. So it’s not really illegal here, but it is. We should be allowed to have farmers grow hemp here. And you can’t get high off of hemp.

We really should. they can make hemp that has no high producing affects so all factions are satisfied; sorry stoners. Truth be told it would be a good second crop right next to corn in the mid-west. I’m sure since it is called ‘weed’ that it is a hardy plant and may help replenish nutrients to the soil while providing an economic yield while other crops are laying fallow. Killing trees for paper should not happen, lumber, well we’re not going to use plastic as a substitute so this is a step in the right direction.
