Slowly allow more exploration, such as switching which room is the cat’s room at least once, before letting the cat out in the whole house. How to get them to get along: Foolproof way (tedious but effective): Here’s how to get any two animals to get used to each other. For the first MONTH, do not ever let them even SEE each other. Just have them in totally separate rooms. Then switch which room they are in, so they get a bigger dose of each other’s smell. Let phase 2 go on for 2 weeks. Then let one cat out, let him or her have the run of the house. Every day, open the door to the other kitty’s room a tiny crack, so they can see each other for the first time. Then close it.
