Thomas Kinkade considered by many as “America’s most collected living artist,” signed autographs and spent time with his fans, Saturday and Sunday, July 4 & 5, at the grand opening of the Thomas Kinkade Cottage at Boyds Bear County. Hundreds of fans turned out to view and buy Kinkade’s unique creations and or a limited edition Thomas Kinkade Collector Bears by Russ/Encore. Each 16-inch tall bear is named after one of Kinkade’s paintings, explained Boyds store manager, Dan Baumgardner. People formed long lines to have Kinkade sign their bears and/or other original items by the artist, known as “Painter of Light,” both for his Christian, family values and his unique use of light in his paintings.
