Will this usb/firewire card work under OSX jaguar?
Vstream, The FireWire-side of the card will probably work with no problem in any version of OSX; OSX has supported FireWire from OSX 10.0 Beta. However, the USB 2.0 can be problematic. As Allan said, 10.2.8 added native support for USB 2.0 but Apple’s driver has problems with some USB2 chipsets and will cause stalls when passing data. Few PC card vendors reveal what chipsets they employ so it is a crapshoot unless you buy a known-supported USB 2.0 PC card. If you are running 10.2.0 > 10.2.6, Apple’s USB 1.1 drivers usually work well with any USB 2.0 chipset although the card defaults to USB 1.1. If you want to use this PC card in a PC laptop also, I would buy the card since you will have full support on the PC and a minimum of FireWire support on the Wallstreet. The USB-side of the card may also work with 10.2.8 at full USB 2.0 speeds but you won’t know until you try.
