Will they ever ban handguns/assault rifles in America?
Probably not a ban, because that’s what got the Democrats out of Congress in the 1994 elections. If Hillary or Obama get elected I think we’ll see a tax hike on ammunition. That would accomplish virtually the same goal as a ban because it would disarm the majority of law-abiding citizens. McCain could also be a threat to our 2nd Amendment rights, even though he voted against the assault weapons ban in 1993, because he’s appeared in anti-gun ads and has veered further towards anti-gun legislation according to Gun Owners of America. And to all of you anti-gun people, you need to educate yourselves in crime statistics and history. The FBI’s crime stats clearly demonstrate that gun control is not effective in deterring crime. Chicago and Washington D.C. have the strictest gun control laws, not allowing citizens to possess a handgun, and yet they have two of the highest crime rates. well, they probably will never ban handguns/assult rifles in America because of the obstacles of the second ammendment (which many people thinks has been mis-interpreted) and the fierce opposition of groups such as the NRA. They might try to ratchet control up on them while keeping the right to possess them, however.
