Will there come a time when solar power will be cost effective to use for homes?

Not for awhile. Currently the most cost effective energy today is nuclear. Propane is also more cost effective than solar or hydrogen. The problem with solar isn’t the panels. Its the battery storage. Currently lead/acid is the cheapest; but they only last 3 to 4 years. They have other batteries; but they are too expensive to maintain.
