The HiperLAN2 protocol is much more complex than 802.11, so the program size of the protocol stack will be considerably larger. Furthermore, HiperLAN2 handles more OSI layers so that the API has to be different. Since the PHYs of HiperLAN2 and IEEE 802.11a are similar, there is not much difference for the DSP.
