A. At present, there is no specific plan or timetable for extending ZFPAudit to non-Microsoft platforms. However, various efforts of diverse groups are underway to implement the Desktop Management Task Force’s CIMOM model (which Microsoft implements as Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI)) on a variety of operating system platforms. As WMI classes deliver the core ZFPAudit functionality, it may eventually be possible to deliver a robust, platform-neutral auditing tool. Meanwhile, take a look at Texas A&M’s TIGER: http://net.tamu.edu/network/tools/tiger.html, and the Tiger Analytical Research Assistant at: http://www-arc.com/tara/.
