Will there be a Final Fantasy X-3?
There is no Final Fantasy X-3 currently in the works. This doesn’t mean they won’t revisit the land of Tidus, Yuna, and company in the future (look at how long they waited to add to the FF7 saga), but at the current time SquareEnix is very busy – especially the FF team – on the FF7 sequels, FF11 expansions, FF12, and the FF13 games due out next summer. There was a rumor back in 2003 (link 1 below) of a PS2 title FFX-3, but it never came to existence. The rumors going around about an E3 announcement for FFX-3 (including in the answers here), are confusing it with FFXIII, which will be FF13 and comes out for the PS3 (along with side project games… See link 2 below for a small clip on youtube). Either way, it seems possible there may be a 3rd FFX title coming up in the future, though it won’t be before the current logjam of active projects dies down.
