Will The University of California have an undergraduate print journalism diploma?
It doesn’t matter that they don’t have a specific degree entitled “print journalism” or simply “journalism” because if you plan to pursue a career in newspaper/magazine type journalism you can easily be qualified for the job with a degree in English or Literature, which are offered at all the UC schools. If you want to go to a school that doesn’t offer a “journalism” degree, major in English and be a part of the school’s newspaper team, or literary magazine at school. Journalism is English. Having a strong foundation in English and being exposed to famous works of literature and being asked to write in various styles (narrative, bio, short story, creative writing, etc.) will enhance your abilities as a journalist. You will have an edge compared to someone who only knows journalistic styles of writing. And think about this one last thing… do you honestly think that there are no people who go to any of the UC schools here in California that want to be journalists?? Come on. There are p
