Will the underquilt flatten out over time?
It’s normal for a Cuddle Ewe underquilt to lose some of its thickness over time, and this thickness loss is predictable. Standard industry product life tests indicate that a new 3.0 in. thick quilt will compact to 2.6 in. after 3 months, and will compact to 2.3 in. after one year. This is still much thicker than competing mattress pads that only measure 0.75 to 1.25 in thickness when new. It is also important to note that a loss in thickness does not mean a loss in comfort. Thickness or compaction indicates where your body lies consistently at rest. Compaction then, is an indicator of comfortable, sound, non-restless sleep.
