No. There is no additional heat generated by the 20W-D. The G4 halogen bulb that comes with the 20W-D actually produces less heat than the 1157 bulbs it replaces. The G4 halogen bulb is rated at 20W (14.5V) with 320 Lumen output The average life of the bulbs is 2000 hours. The TailBlazer 20W-D Brake Light Flasher doesn’t plug in properly in the socket.
