Will the SPD and master plans make our town centres look like clone towns?
One of the key issues to emerge from the public consultation on the master plans was the strong desire to retain the individual character of the three Mid Sussex towns. The plans seek to ensure the three towns retain and build upon their unique identity. The importance of independent shops and service providers are recognised and a range of sizes of units will be promoted to ensure national, regional and local shops and services can have a presence. Careful design of new development will seek to support local identity.
