Will the proposals at Gresham Park have a detrimental impact on residents living on Wilford Lane?
We don’t think that they will. The development is a major opportunity for significant investment and improvement of important educational and recreational facilities in the Borough. The county council’s studies have shown that although the amount of traffic along Wilford Lane will increase, overall the total amount of vehicle movements in the general area, will simply be redistributed. Traffic control at key junctions will help ensure that any impacts are minimised. The provision of improved access and car parking at the proposed new pavilion will ensure that visiting car users no longer need to park on Wilford Lane during busy periods. This will be a major improvement for local residents.
