Will the OWC Mercury Elite drive work with 6pin to 4pin firewire cables?

Yes. Since the Mercury Elite runs off it’s own external power supply, it can run off of a 6 to 4 pin cable. The extra 2 pins are for supplying power through the firewire cable.
