Will the Macquarie Point Railyards site need to be remediated?

0

In recent years a number of studies have been undertaken investigating contamination at the Macquarie Point Railyards site. These previous studies, some of which have included sampling and testing of material from the site have indicated that parts of the site contain contaminants. Currently the New Royal Project team has a more detailed study underway (including an extensive sampling and testing programme) to better identify the locations, types and quantities of contaminants. The outcomes of this study will enable a recommendation to be made as to how the contamination on site will be addressed and the costs involved. This recommendation will be included in the Business Case to go to Cabinet in December.
