Will the local Tiree community receive any payment as recompense for disruption from the development?
No. There are no regulations or best practice guidelines that require developers to compensate local communities adversely affected by off-shore windfarms. The opposite is true in the case of on-shore developments. Consequently, SPR have told us that they do not plan to make any compensation payments to the local community.
