Will the Latrobe City establish a fund for future claims and payouts to victims with associated illness e.g. asbestosis, asthma etc.?
Latrobe City Council has adopted the requirements stipulated by the EPA publication which states that the landfill proposed by Latrobe City is a minimum of 500 metres from sensitive land uses such as dwellings, schools and hospitals. We will be operating the landfill to best practice which seeks to protect the amenity and wellbeing of personnel, customers, visitors and nearby residents. Latrobe City will not be setting up a fund for the purposes stipulated above.
