Will the Investment Cooperation Program (INC) continue to be a responsive program (ex. DFAIT accepts proposals from Canadian registered firms at any time)?
Yes. The program is responsive, although the Minister of International Trade may decide to restrict applications for projects in certain countries or sectors in order to ensure consistency with Canada’s foreign, commercial and development policies. If the demand for the program’s limited resources exceeds expectations, applications may be prioritized based on whether the project is in a priority country, the extent of the project’s expected developmental impact and Canadian benefits, the firm’s demonstrated commitment to corporate social responsibility principles, or other criteria.
