Will the HP Slate PC send Apple shares plunging?

Another Christmas has come and gone, another bunch of computer illiterate parents have spent a ton of money on those Macs the computer illiterate children have begged them to buy. The kids have been mislead into believing a Mac can do anything a PC can, kids dont stay stupid forever and sooner or later they will learn their cute little etch a sketch Mac isnt fulfilling their needs. Apple shares WILL drop down again as they always do. They still think they can compete with their proprietary garbage as they have for 25 years. If their design team had half the brains their advertising team had, they might get somewhere.

Don’t hold it in, Blamay…say what you really mean 😉 Still, there’s a gem of truth in there. There’s a computer that was once produced by a group of arrogant elitists that did amazing things. And it required expensive memory. And expensive peripherals. And ALL and EVERY detail on it was proprietary – there was NO documentation made available so that 3rd parties could independently design interfaces for it. It was called an “Amiga”. And their marketing was eerily similar to Apple’s. But Amiga was a one-or-two-trick-pony, and they never put much effort into advancing their technology (at least apple spends a substantial amount on development). As a result, the highly competitive, innovative and well-documented PC (and Apple, too) crowd left the Amiga looking at nothing but taillights in just a few short years, and the Amiga became nothing but a crummy also-ran. They ultimately went belly-up and were bought by a German company. What it’s current status is in europe, I don’t know. Apple
