As stated in our Call for Measures, we anticipate that we will be developing items within these dimensions of patient-centered care: • Respect for patients’ values, preferences and expressed needs. • Coordination and integration of care. • Communication and education. • Physical comfort. • Emotional support (i.e., relieving fear and anxiety). • Involvement of family and friends. • Continuity and transition. • Access to care. As we reviewed the submitted surveys, we may discover additional dimensions to include. These dimensions are consistent with some of the concepts you mention but until we begin actual item selection or construction, we will not know how close the fit is.
