Will the governor freeze state workers wages in New Jersey?
If a western Monmouth County resident’s or visitor’s fall ritual includes visiting a local farm to pick apples and then stopping at Jersey Freeze for a treat, that tradition will be intact for least for one more year. Bruce Blackmore, who owns the Jersey Freeze ice cream stand and restaurant at Route 9 and Manalapan Avenue, said a deal to sell his property to the Olive Garden Italian restaurant is still on, but is taking a bit longer to complete than he anticipated. Blackmore previously said that Jersey Freeze, which has been in the same location for more than 50 years, would close at the end of the 2008 summer season. It now appears that the popular ice cream stand will be around a little longer. In 2007 the Freehold Borough Zoning Board of Adjustment granted a use variance to Chesapeake Companies, Diversified Group LLC of Minnesota.
