Will the finance system allow us to complete the electronic paperwork offline and then dump it into the system, or will all work be live like eJVE, eTime, SEAS and Temp/On Call Labor systems?
Eudora lets us work offline and then submit via email. If email isn’t working, the transaction goes into a queu until the system is active again. We experience occasional problems with either the server or the building connection. If the system is online live, we will be stuck reentering information when we are disconnected from the system or not being able to complete work because we can’t access the system. Currently there is no offline capability. However, the system does provide the ability to save your eDoc while working online. KFS provides a “save” button on each eDoc that allows you to save in-progress work then pull the eDoc up at a later time. For lengthy transactions where you can’t afford to lose your work, it is best practice to save your eDoc frequently. When the connection is reestablished, you can pick up from your last save point.
