Section 35.24(e) requires that the licensee “establish the authority…of the Radiation Safety Officer in writing” and § 35.24(g) requires that the licensee “provide the Radiation Safety Officer sufficient authority…to….” It is not necessary for the licensee to submit this written authority to the NRC as part of the licensing process. Refer to “Supplementary Information,” Section III, “Summary of Public Comments and Responses to Comments” for 10 CFR § 35.24, as published in the Federal Register on April 24, 2002.
