Will the earth flip on december 12 2012?
Folks, please, if you know you really don’t know anything about astronomy, please don’t pretend that you do. There will be no pole reversal or flip, rotational OR magnetic. It’s not clear which one you meant. To clear up some of the misinformation provided by others, here. 1) The prediction, made in a stupid documentary, aired at least three times by the History Channel, was that the sun and earth would align with the center of the galaxy. This, however, is incorrect. The apparent path of the sun will pass about 5 degrees from being aligned with the galactic core, as it does EVERY year on that date. 2) The date was 12/21/12, but since 12/12/12 looks so much cooler, doom predictions are now starting to shift toward that date. 6/6/06 was supposed to be the end of the world, too. 3) There is no scientist anywhere, who makes this prediction.
