We should lower the drinking, enlistment and driving age to 16, and the marriage age to 14. And introduce conscription for all able bodied young men under 25 not working or in education. In the 1950s military service was compulsory and conscripts were sent to Korea, although in the present day we should only send volunteers to war and focus on giving the new recruits skils they can use in civilian life.

Not really. It would take a war, which is what it took for them to lower the drinking age to 18 back in the day, for a while. The belief was that if soldiers were old enough to fight in Vietnam, they should be able to drink when they got home. It got sent back soon after though. The drinking age is not an issue in the U.S.

I think that the enlistment/draft age should be raised. It is hypocritical to allow 18 year olds to enter the military and entrust them with weapons of mass destruction, but refuse to serve them a beer.
