• As of September, 1998 we are only beginning a pilot with COMAP Course 1. • If the program demonstrates *statistically-improved performance by students along with numerous additional anecdotal evidence of better student achievement and learning, we will make a proposal to the Board of Education to implement a regular program. • * We have developed a statistical model to test this pilot. Data from last year’s students in M-1 Intro. Algebra 3, 4 and M-2 Algebra 1 have been tabulated and are available for the model. In June, 1999 we will test the students who have gone through the pilot and will compare their results with those of our previous students. • What are my school and my child’s teachers doing to support, learn and teach this curriculum? • The New Canaan Public Schools already support work at the annual summer conference in Danvers, MA with the developers and publishers of the materials. It also is committed to released time for teachers to upgrade their knowledge and skills. •
