Will the BlueOcean Energy project affect the marine environment?
Anchored some 20 miles off the coast of New Jersey and about 30 miles off the coast of New York, the BlueOcean Energy LNG terminal will be far from shore and away from shipping lanes, ports and recreational areas. The terminal will not be visible from the shoreline. We will avoid or mitigate the potential impacts of the project on sensitive resources. We will conduct extensive agency consultations and field surveys to identify cultural resources, endangered and threatened species, and sensitive wildlife, shellfish and fish habitats. In cooperation with federal and state agencies, we will consider the results of these consultations and surveys in the final floating ocean terminal site and pipeline route selection process.
