Will the American people elect a woman or an African-American President first?

The two forerunners for the Democractic party at this point are Hillary Clinton, a woman, and Barack Obama, who is African-American. Although some people are opposed to either of them running for exactly the reason that they are not sure if Americans are ready to elect a woman and/or a black man, the way things are looking right now, they may very well be on the ticket. If that’s the case, it could happen a lot sooner than you think, provided that the Democrats win the election. I honestly don’t know if Americans are ready to elect a woman or African-American though. I think that women have a better chance of holding the high office than blacks, just because racism seems to be a stronger sentiment at this point in time than sexism. Obviously, though, both are still a big factor to overcome. I’m interested to see how it goes.
