Nope. Malaysia uses different bands. Unless your phone supports those bands (900, 1800, and 2100), it’s over. No unlocking or SIM card fiddling will make a phone work in a band it isn’t designed for. http://www.gsmworld.com/roaming/gsminfo/… BTW, the 2100 used in the rest of the world is NOT compatible with the American AWS band. T-Mo purchased some licenses in that band last year, and perhaps some phones support it, but it is very different from the 2100 used elsewhere.

Providing you can get the Sidekick unlocked, the voice functions would work. The data functions would not work, as you wouldn’t have access to Danger’s servers.
