will stem cell research cure high blood pressure, diabetes, & high clolesterol for good?
There has been some promising research using stem cells to CURE diabetes in lab mice. but it is a LONG way from lab mice to human treatments. IF this proves useful in humans, it will be 20-30 YEARS before treatment is available for humans. High blood pressure and high cholesterol, if not otherwise caused by diabetes, show little promise of being cured by stem cells. High blood pressure is most often caused by some other underlying disease, like diabetes or kidney disease. High Cholesterol is about 75% poor lifestyle choice, and about 25% inherited, neither of which stem cells affect.
