Solaris ZFS is a next generation file system that is designed, over time, to replace UFS along with the need for separate volume management software. Solaris ZFS is available in Solaris 10 release along with the default UNIX file system, UFS, and complements these special purpose Solaris file systems and storage archive software products offered: Sun StorageTek QFS shared SAN file system and the Sun StorageTek Storage Archive Manager software.
