Will snow harm my dogs feet and how long can i take him out in it for?
The snow won’t hurt his feet, but some of the things people use to melt ice will hurt his feet, like rock salt. That will make the skin raw and irritated and if he licks it off of his paws it can even be toxic. So don’t worry about the snow, but if you are walking along a sidewalk that has salt down on it, make sure to wash his paws off thoroughly when you get home! I always clean the snow off of my dogs’ feet with a warm damp cloth when they come inside, just to warm them up and stop them from tracking it around the house.
