shea stadium will be demolished very soon after the completion of the 2008 season, not to “make room” for citi field as one poster mentioned as construction of the new park will be most finished by then. the ground that shea sits on will be a large chuck of parking(as another poster mentioned. shea apparently will not be imploded as is much the trend these days, but rather taken down piece by piece…..many pieces to be made available to the public as souviniers.
