Karate has always been a martial art. Taught in its traditional form it full fills all the requirements for self defence. As a traditional dojo, what we teach forms the basis for a very Good self defence method. However we compliment this with special street work classes whereby students of all grades follow the training that we give to professional group’s i.e. The army, navy, police, etc. This is where we teach awareness skills and fundamental ABC; Avoid, Back off, Conflict. For beginners these lessons include escapes from grips, holds, combined with Karate moves To give an all round defence system. For Special Forces and very senior grades only, we cover weapons defence, multi combat situations, advanced Dim Makuse of the points where the major blood vessels cross. We can and do have ladies only self defence classes and these can be tailored to individual or groups taught in the Dojo at Handbridge or in the Workplace or even the home if required.
