Will self adhesive vinyl floor tiles stick to particle board flooring?

0

If you are dead set on putting self stick tiles on a particle board floor, you have to do a couple things first. Make sure the particle board has not been water damaged, if it has, it will flake just by rubbing your shoe across it. If this is the case, you will run into BIG problems. If it is still solid, then you will have to make sure it is clean by vacuuming it thoroughly and then, with a paint roller, apply a coat of latex (from any flooring supply) and let it dry. This will seal the surface and help keep the particle board from deteriorating and make a better bond with the adhesive on the back of the tiles. If you need any more tips just holler.
